Hath yoga - Vinyasa flow yoga – Yin yoga –restorative yoga (pre and post natal) - Pilates

I am a highly experienced and qualified Hatha yoga and Pilates teacher, personal trainer and group fitness instructor, with 30 years of teaching experience.  My passion is to inspire people to improve their fitness and wellbeing and to lead them to commit to long-term health and postural improvement through yoga and Pilates.

My Pilates sessions are based on functional movement, postural correction, core strengthening and stretching through the use of bands, balls, light weights, foam rollers and tennis balls.

I am a BSY trained Hath yoga teacher, teaching vinyasa flow, yin yoga, pre- & post-natal and restorative yoga.

Ingrid Palmer - Yoga Instructor

Vinyasa flow yoga – Yin Yoga – Blend Yoga – Yoga Nidra – Pilates

Yoga came into my life at the age of 15 – a time when I felt lost and confused about life and my place in it.  My yoga teacher then became my mentor and guided me through 5 years of training and practice before allowing me to take over some classes – and I have been training and teaching ever since.  In the meantime, I have taken further qualifications included pre- and post- natal pilates and yin yoga.

I am passionate about teaching and introducing people of all ages and fitness levels to the joy of movement and its benefits, both physical and mental.

Vinyasa flow yoga – Yin Yoga – Restorative Yoga – Hatha Yoga

I discovered yoga 10 years ago whilst looking to help stretch out after other sporting activities but immediately discovered something so much more meaningful.  I soon realised yoga’s power to help the body and calm the mind and very quickly it became the most important part of my recreational life.

This led to a strong desire to encourage others to discover the benefits of yoga and so, after completing a 200-hour teacher-training programme with Sally Parkes BSc in 2015, I began teaching professionally in 2016. I now assist with training yoga instructors on the Sally Parkes teacher-training programme and have completed a restorative yoga course with Relax And Renew Senior Trainer, Paula Hines.

I teach many different groups and abilities offering various styles of yoga including Hatha, vinyasa flow, restorative and stretch-based conditioning.  My approach to yoga is focused on building strength and flexibility of the body, relaxation and release, and I take enormous pleasure in sharing my knowledge helping people to experience the rewards that a regular practice can achieve.

In today’s busy and fast-paced life, yoga makes me feel calm and centred. It reminds me to connect inwardly, to breathe and take time for myself.

My greatest ambition on my yoga journey is to share my passion and the countless benefits that a yoga practice can offer.

Camilla Hamblin - Sound Therapist

Sound therapy including sound bath

I qualified as a Group Sound Therapist Practitioner in 2018 at The British Academy of Sound Therapy and have certificates in Reiki, Spiritual Life Coaching and Trauma Awareness.

I am committed to my ongoing development in the field of sound therapy which includes working within a Shamanic community and foundation based in Bahia, Brazil.

I believe that we are learning now, more than ever, to be aware of our own physical and mental health.  Sound baths are a powerful tool that I use to slow the brain waves and enable us to become more connected and receptive to ourselves, each other and the environment surrounding us.  Sound frequencies and vibrations are at the heart of how we experience everything.

Reflexology

I first came across Reflexology when I was pregnant with my first child.  Like many new Mum's I was quite overwhelmed with all the changes that were taking place with my body. Reflexology had such a calming, relaxing and positive effect on me that I decided to start my journey to train and become a Reflexologist and I'm so glad I did! I am delighted to be part of the Walnut Barn & Cottages Treatment Team. For the past 7yrs I have been a practising therapist in Clinics in West Sussex and I am very passionate and love what I do. To this day I continue to be fascinated by reflexology and the results it brings. It will be lovely to meet you and be able treat you in such beautiful surroundings.

Laura Bennett - Aromatherapy Massage

Laura Bennett

Aromatherapy massage

I am proud to be fully qualified in Aromatherapy and Body Massage (Level 3 Diploma in each), accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists.

I have a real passion for health and wellbeing. For me, complementary therapies form an important part of the holistic self-care picture and I thoroughly enjoy and whole-heartedly believe in the benefits that massage and aromatherapy can bring.

I pride myself in my excellent customer service skills, high standards and technical skills that inspire trust and confidence in my clients.

I offer body massage (without the use of essential oils) and aromatherapy massage whereby I create a personalised blend of essential oils to use during the treatment, according to my client’s needs and preferences.

A consultation is undertaken with each client in order to understand their current health and wellbeing and what they would like to achieve from the treatment.

Clients choosing to have aromatherapy love being involved in the choice of their personalised blend of essential oils.

My clients enjoy some well-deserved ‘me time’ and leave feeling calm, relaxed and refreshed, with a sense of improved wellbeing.

All the essential oils I use in my aromatherapy treatments are produced by Tisserand, a trusted, quality brand based in West Sussex. They are a local company who are world renowned in the aromatherapy industry and are experts in sourcing 100% natural, pure essential oils.

Laura Doughton - Sports Massage

Laura Doughton

Clinical, deep-tissue, sports massage

I am a highly experienced massage therapist with over 30 years of experience. I am passionate about the physical and therapeutic benefits that massage can bring to my clients. I take a holistic and empathetic approach, using a fusion of Eastern and Western massage techniques. I then adapt them specifically to meet the client’s needs. Whether relaxing/pampering, deep tissue/sports massage, or clinical massage for a more specific issue.

I began my career as a beauty therapist and worked at the prestigious Ragdale Hall for five years.  I went on to set up my own business whilst also teaching Beauty Therapy at Chichester College, inspiring the next generation of beauty therapists.

I then progressed to take a three-year degree in Advanced Clinical and Sports massage,  gaining a BTEC Level 6 Diploma. I  believe in continuous professional development and regularly attend training courses to update and expand my skills.

I have always worked intuitively and on many occasions my clients have said I have ‘magic hands’.

I believe that massage is not a luxury but a necessity in today’s busy life.  Massage affects the whole being.   TaoTe Ching wrote, “ When you touch a body, you touch the whole person, the intellect, the spirit and the emotions”.

I look forward to working with you at Walnut Studio.
