Vinyassa Flow Yoga

Continual movement – one pose flowing into the next – mindful movement led by breath.

The class begins with setting your intentions for the practice, with seated breath and mobility, before standing for Sun Salutations and the main body of the practice, finishing with Savasana (reclined relaxation) and closing meditation and prayer.

Yin & Restorative Yoga

Floor-based practice.

Props (bolsters, bricks and blocks) are used to support the body as poses are held for longer periods of time. This slow and meditative practice is enhanced with readings, chimes and the gentle application of aromatherapy oils through gentle touch. The class ends with Savasana and closing meditation and prayer.

Sound Bath

A symphony of sound & vibration to relax the mind, body and soul.

A beautiful way to facilitate regulation of the nervous system. Sounds and vibrations from a range of instruments, played in a specific way to stimulate a change in the parasympathetic nervous system from fight, flight and freeze mode into rest and digest mode. Enjoyed whilst lying down with blankets, cushions and eyes closed.

Experiences can include:

  • a sense of weightlessness in the body
  • imagery of colours and patterns behind the eyes
  • insights from the subconscious
  • emotional/physical release
  • subsidence of physical pain
  • a state of peace and calm in mind/body/emotions/spirit

Reflexology

An alternative medical practice involving the application of pressure to specific points on the feet, ears, and/or hands.

This is done using thumb, finger, and hand massage techniques without the use of oil or lotion.

The benefits of reflexology can include: the rebalancing of the mind and body, improving your general sense of well-being, relieving stress, improving mood, aiding restful sleep and the mind to become calmer and clearer.

Reiki

A spiritual practice and energy healing system originating in Japan from its founder Mikao Usui.

Reiki involves the therapist placing their hands non-intrusively, on or near the body using their intuition and training as a guide. There is no massage or manipulation.

Reiki can be used on the person as a whole, or on specific parts of the body. It is also possible to receive Reiki at a distance and aims to work on the four levels of healing; the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Indian Head Massage

Restores balance and inner harmony.

Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient holistic Ayurvedic healing system encompassing the mind, body and spirit and strives to restore balance and inner harmony to all three to improve the health of an individual.

Indian Head massage includes the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp, face and ears. This can help relax, soothe or invigorate the recipient, by helping to dispel stress-generated tension in muscles caused by poor blood flow.

It increases circulation to the head, face, neck and shoulders, bringing oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, helping to improve skin condition. Mental fatigue is greatly reduced and concentration improved. Migraine, headaches, eyestrain, blemishes and tension lines, especially in the face, are often alleviated.

Aromatherapy Massage

Massage therapy, combined with essential oils, candles and incense, to stimulate positive emotions and relaxation.

Aromatherapy massage can assist your coping mechanisms for many health issues. An aromatherapy massage is a popular multi-purpose way of using supplemental care for health issues. The skin absorbs essential oils maintaining suppleness, can offer pain relief, and the aroma’s mental stimulation provides clients with the ultimate massage session.

Swedish Massage

The goal of Swedish massage is to improve your circulation and promote relaxation through soothing your muscles.

It's therefore quite different from deep tissue massage or sports massage. The techniques involve soft strokes over areas which are more prone to pain, or without much muscle coverage.

Deep-Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage therapy realigns deeper muscles and frees them from adhesions.

This enables the blood to circulate normally again and relieving pain.  The techniques used in Deep Tissue Massage therapy are very similar to regular massage techniques, except they concentrate more on the painful region, reaching deep into the muscles with slow, but firm movements.
